That is so well written Darius. I used to be one of those people who believed that working hard will make me rich. It’s so easy to blur the lines and combine these two things together. But over time I realised that building wealth has more to do with consistency than hard work. If you are consistent with saving, and even being intentional about the things that matter in life, it’ll only be a matter of time that you’ll start seeing results.

Agreed that effort and wealth are separate projects — I'd add that they fail for opposite reasons. Effort fails when it has no aim. Wealth-building fails when it has no rules, so it quietly becomes the thing you swore off: raw effort hoping to compound into money. The deliberate version needs the same standard you gave the mirror — done properly, on purpose, or not counted.
