The AI Brief #1: What actually matters in AI right now

A monthly briefing on the AI race, Sora’s shutdown, early agents, tech layoffs, and why the next phase of AI is about real economic value.

Today I’m launching something new for Academy members.

It’s called The AI Brief.

The reason I started this podcast is simple. I got tired of all the hype content around AI.

Every piece of it is optimized to get your attention, not to inform you. Shocked faces, all-caps headlines, “this changes everything” every two weeks.

It’s designed to make you anxious and keep you scrolling, not help you think clearly.

The AI Brief is the opposite.

A monthly podcast where I look at the most important AI developments and explain what actually matters for your work, your career, your business, and your wealth.

The goal is to help you stay sharp and adaptable without getting caught up in panic or distraction.

What episode 1 covers

  • How the AI race shifted in the last 12 months (and why “ChatGPT vs Claude” is the wrong frame)

  • Why OpenAI just shut down its video platform Sora, and what it tells you about the AI boom

  • GPT-5.5 and OpenAI’s quiet pivot away from flashy demos

  • Why agents are still early (and what they actually do well right now)

  • Why Meta just cut 8,000 jobs while spending $135 billion on AI

  • What all of this means for your career, your business, and your money

The first 10 minutes of the episode are available for everyone.

The full episode, slide deck, show notes, and key takeaways are for Academy members.

If you’re already an Academy member, keep scrolling. The full notes are below.

If you’re not yet, this is a good moment to join us.

The AI Brief is now part of the Wise & Wealthy Academy, alongside the weekly posts, the $1M Ideas course, and a digital copy of Handbook for Modern Life.
